The Ecosocial Forum works as a network of two independent associations: the Ecosocial Forum Austria which focuses on regional and national topics, the Ecosocial Forum Europe which deals with European and international affairs. The Ecosocial Forum Austria is the umbrella organization for the Ecosocial Forums in the Austrian federal states. The Ecosocial Forum Europe is the umbrella organization for the Ecosocial Forums in other European countries.

Stephan Pernkopf is president of the Ecosocial Forum Austria and Elisabeth Köstinger is president of the Ecosocial Forum Europe. Honorary presidents in both forums are Josef Riegler and Franz Fischler.

The work of the Ecosocial Forum is financed through membership subscriptions, public funds, donations, sponsorship and the sale of publications.
